KCETLink Presents 'Border Blaster,' a New Original Music Series Comprised Entirely of Music Videos From Around the World

 Series Will Feature an Episode Each Month Curated From Online Viewer Votes

BURBANK, CALIF. -- October 6, 2014 - KCETLink presents BORDER BLASTER, a 30-minute TV show comprised solely of music videos from groundbreaking musicians from around the world. BORDER BLASTER traces the transnational flows of music culture and gives viewers a unique opportunity to curate the show's content. The show premieres on KCET on Tuesday, Oct. 7 at 10:30 p.m. and on Link TV (DirecTV 375, DISH Network 9410) on Monday, Oct. 13 at 10:30 p.m. ET.

Made possible by the collaboration with independent record labels and musicians worldwide, BORDER BLASTER will feature 13 broadcast episodes. All music videos will be available online. Once a month, one of the broadcast episodes will feature a user-generated curation of the site's most popular videos. 

Featured artists will be based outside the United Statesallowing viewers to travel the world through music. From Malian roots music to Norwegian electronica, to Mongolian hip hop and Filipino indie rock, Afrocuban jazz and Japanese pop,BORDER BLASTER brings viewers worldwide variety.

Following the series premiere, viewers can go to borderblaster.org and watch a selection of videos and vote for their favorites. Videos with the most votes will appear on the site's trending list. The videos with the most votes will make up theBORDER BLASTER broadcast episode airing the last week of every month.
