at the 57th Annual SoCal Journalism Awards Presented by the Los Angeles Press Club

Honored with Six Awards Including Best Television News; SOCAL CONNECTED Garners Four Awards; Southern California Arts and Culture Series ARTBOUND Collects Two 

Burbank, Calif. - June 29, 2015 - KCETLink Media Group, a leading national independent non-profit public broadcast and digital network, is proud to announce that it has received six awards at the 57thAnnual Southern California Journalism Awards presented by the Los Angeles Press Club on Sunday, June 28 at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel.

The station's awards include best Television News for its award-winning news programSOCAL CONNECTED and best Television Feature Documentary for its acclaimed arts and culture series ARTBOUNDKCETLink's awards also included the prestigious Best Television News award which went to SOCAL CONNECTED for "Processed Human Waste as Fertilizer: The Stinky Controversy." The report details how the processing of sewage sludge accumulated by more than four million residents in Los Angeles is extracted and treated at the city's largest and oldest wastewater treatment facility to create biosolids for a variety of purposes.

The L.A. Press Club Awards recognize the highest-quality journalism in print, television, and other media in the Southern California region. KCETLink received 19 nominations this year for several specials and its award-winning television and online series, ARTBOUNDDEPARTURES and SOCAL CONNECTED.

KCET's long-running digital series DEPARTURES received six nominations for its columns on the Los Angeles River and the east side of Los Angeles, receiving second in the category of Best Website, News Organization Exclusive to the Internet.
