Burbank, Calif. - Jan. 30, 2017 - KCETLink, the national independent public media organization, is proud to announce that it has received four Golden Mike awards for the 67th annual Golden Mike Awards presented by the Radio & Television News Association of Southern California (RTNA).
KCETLink’s acclaimed multiplatform arts and culture series ARTBOUND was named the winner of Best Documentary for its episode "Charles Lummis: Reimagining the American West." SOCAL CONNECTED, KCET's weekly flagship news series, was honored for Best Serious Feature Reporting for its story on "Teaching Children with Cancer to Widen Their World Through Photography." In addition, SOCAL CONNECTED won for Best Entertainment Reporting for the segment "Feathers of Fire: Spectacular Shadow Play," as well as Best Medical and Science Reporting for its story on "A Great Use for U.C. Irvine's Garbage."
Formally announced at the awards ceremony at the Universal Hilton in Universal City on Jan. 28, 2017, the Golden Mike Awards® recognize excellence in broadcast journalism.
