"You've seen travel shows. You've seen health shows. You've seen history

shows. City Walk is all that, put through a hip filter of urban renewal

and rediscovery. Impressive!" --Huffington Post

BURBANK, Calif. - June 4, 2014--KCETLink has announced it has picked up a

second season of CITY WALK, the

immersive television series that reveals the way walking is transforming cities

all across America. Season Two of CITY WALK will premiere on KCETLink

Sept. 18, 2014, continuing to spotlight the most walkable neighborhoods and

cities in the U.S., while inspiring viewers to go out and explore their

communities by foot.

The first season of CITY WALK showcased the vibrant pedestrian life

in such cities as: Los Angeles, Boston, Atlanta, Washington D.C. and New York.

Season Two will explore new cities, storylines and neighborhoods, offer

historical insight and a modern perspective on urban parks and architecture

that influence and inspire walking and walkable communities. Viewers can also

expect to see a greater emphasis on the greater Los Angeles area along with a

new theme song, soundtrack, a splash of comedy and entertaining visits to an

exciting variety of walkable cities all across America.

"Whether traveling in the U.S. or if you're looking for something right in

your own backyard, City Walk is for you." --KCRW

Along with its commitment to a second season of the series, KCETLink will

submit CITY WALK for consideration in the national Emmy race, a first

for the recently merged network. The series will be considered for: Outstanding

Informational Series or Special, Outstanding Editing for Non-Fiction

Programming, Outstanding Cinematography for Non-Fiction Programming and

Outstanding Directing for Non-Fiction Programming.

"CITY WALK is a unique series that we are proud

to offer to our viewers," said Juan Devis, SVP, Content Development &

Production.  "The program provides a very

different vantage point to experiencing major urban areas, including the

historical and cultural influences that define the character of a city to the

health and wellness benefits associated with taking in a city on foot. These

program elements, among many others, fit perfectly within KCETLink's mission."

Added, CITY WALK executive producer, Thomas Rigler: "We are

thrilled that audiences across the country embraced CITY WALK's first

season, and we're delighted to once again work with KCETLink on Season 2. The

network is at an extremely interesting point of completely re-inventing itself

and has provided the most inspiring conditions to deliver on a creative premise

that shows the transformation of our cities in an entertaining way. Initially

conceived as a series of PSA's for the award-winning Every Body Walk! campaign,

CITY WALK has evolved into a nationwide conversation on public

television. We are honored to be the first series ever submitted for a national

Emmy by KCETLink, and we look forward to premiering the new episodes later this

year."

The entire first season of CITY WALK will be rebroadcast on KCET in

Los Angeles and on Link TV nationally Tuesday and Thursday nights at 8 p.m.

beginning June 3 through Sept. 12.

CITY WALK is available for viewers via mobile,

online and social platforms. The

series has a vibrant online destination at kcet.org/citywalk where

visitors can stream full episodes, find show segments, web extras, related

news, and tap into additional resources on how walking can change your life.
