Weekly Presentation of Globally-Sourced Documentary Films
Premiering May 6 on Link TV and KCET
BURBANK, Calif. - April 16, 2015 - KCETLink, a leading national independent non-profit broadcast and digital network, presents a new weekly series of diverse, provocative documentaries that inform, inspire and invite audience participation. LINK VOICES premieres May 6, 2015 at 9 p.m. PST in Southern California on KCET and nationally at 9 p.m. EST/PST on Link TV.
LINK VOICES provides a unique collection of documentaries that show a medley of perspectives, untold stories and regional flavors. This impactful documentary series launches with a compelling mix of topics from LGBT rights and homelessness to racism and poverty, expressed by the people closest to the issues.
"We are excited to introduce LINK VOICES and expose viewers across the country to compelling, topical, daring stories that represent highly original and authentic voices," said Bohdan Zachary, Senior Vice President of Broadcast, Programming and Syndication. "We are certain these engaging, inspiring and bold films will challenge viewers' perspectives on art, politics, the environment and human nature."
Each film will include brief intros that set up the film and offer additional insight for viewers and provide further context tied to national and global issues in the news.
An online hub streams several of the documentary releases along with additional content inviting viewers to engage with the issues.

Eight homeless individuals in Los Angeles share their stories, struggles and hopes. We hear the voices of those we pass every day in the street, and we enter their world.
UTOPIA
Wed. May 20 at 9 p.m.
John Pilger's voice has been a lifeline for some, and a thorn in the side of others. He's a rabble-rouser, but his passion and uncompromising reporting style has drawn attention to issues no one knew about. "Utopia" is a harrowing film about the continued plight of aboriginals in Australia and, through Pilger, we hear the voices of impoverished native people whose experience of institutional racism resonates with US viewers.
