Local News Program SOCAL CONNECTED Earns Nine Nominations;Southern California Arts and Culture Series ARTBOUND Garners Six

Burbank, Calif.June 6, 2017KCETLink Media Group, a leading national independent nonprofit public broadcast and digital network, is proud to announce that its Southern California public media service KCET has received 18 nominations and one nomination for KCET/kcet.org for the 69th annual Los Angeles Area Emmy® Awards. The organization’s nominations include nine for KCET’s acclaimed news program SOCAL CONNECTED, four for its multi-media arts and culture series ARTBOUND and two for the food series THE MIGRANT KITCHEN, including a win for composer Jose Parody in the category of Creative Technical Crafts – Music Composition. Also nominated is KCET’s original series LOST L.A. that explores iconic pieces of Los Angeles history that have vanished, and the special election initiative, PROPS IN A MINUTE. The 2017 Annual Los Angeles Area Emmy® Awards will be announced on Saturday, July 22 at the Television Academy’s Saban Media Center in North Hollywood.
