NEWMAN'S OWN FOUNDATION

Funding will support BBC World News Programming on Public TV

BURBANK, CA─ Nov. 24, 2014 -The KCETLink Media Group has been awarded a $200,000 program grant over two years from Newman's Own Foundation, the independent foundation created by the late actor and philanthropist, Paul Newman. The award to KCETLink reflects the ongoing commitment of Newman's Own Foundation to support open dialogue and promote civic engagement.

KCETLink will utilize the grant to support the marketing and distribution of BBC World News to public television in the United States.  Newman's Own Foundation has been a key underwriter of BBC World News since KCETLink began distributing the program in 2008.

"We are incredibly grateful for the long-term continued support that Newman's Own Foundation hasgiven to public television in delivering high-quality global news and perspectives from the BBC," said Al Jerome, President and Chief Executive Officer of the KCETLink Media Group. "We are proud to offer viewers access to the resources of the BBC for no cost."

"Paul Newman believed that the independent voice was critical in making our world a better place," said Robert Forrester, President of Newman's Own Foundation.  "We are pleased to continue his support of KCETLink, an independent nonprofit media network that consistently provides relevant, quality programming to the community."

Paul Newman established the Foundation in 2005, as a means of continuing his pledge to donate to charity all net profits and royalties from the sale of products from Newman's Own, Inc.  Since the food company's founding in 1982, Newman and Newman's Own Foundation have donated more than $400 million to thousands of charities worldwide.
