BURBANK, CALIF - December 1, 2014 - SOCAL CONNECTED, KCET's Emmy® and Peabody®Award-winning series looks at the story behind the San Bernardino International Airport, a new $220 million airport built after Norton Air Force Base was closed in 1994. It has everything - except commercial planes and passengers. How did it get built? Why does most of it sit unused? Reporter Conor Knighton wanders through abandoned terminals, strolls down the empty tarmac and talks to local officials who are determined to bring commercial airlines to the airport and much-needed jobs to the local economy.
