Burbank, CA - March 18, 2013 - In commemoration of the Iranian/Persian New Year (Nowruz),

KCET's original series Open Call

will present the feature-length documentary, The Iran I Remember on Thursday, March 21 at 9 p.m.

This 50-minute

documentary chronicles Los Angeles based filmmaker Morteza Rezvani's journey

back to his homeland of Iran. In what began as a trip to attend a wedding,

Rezvani's visit developed into a much deeper purpose: a search for his family

roots. The film is an exploration for his past intertwined with the history,

culture, and literature of Iran.  Filmed

during the Nowruz season this documentary is also a revealing portrayal of how

Iranians celebrate this ancient tradition.

Winner of the "Audience Favorite Award

"at the 2012 Noor Film Festival and the "Best Director Award" at the 2012

Cincinnati Film Festival,

The Iran I

Remember

captures a personal and reflective view that is rarely seen in the

Western media.
