KCET's SoCal Connected Will Air a Special LIVE Episode Surrounding Tonight's Presidential State of the Union Address

BURBANK, CA - February 12, 2013 - Tonight,

SoCal

Connected

will air an hour and a half special in honor of the

Presidential State of the Union Address. 

In

the first half hour, anchor Val Zavala and special contributor Madeleine Brand

will preview the Address with live commentary from Washington Post correspondent

Aaron Blake from the Capitol. SoCal Connected will air the State of the

Union live in its entirety.  Following

the full Address, Zavala and Brand will recap the night's festivities with a

panel of experts:

Raphael J. Sonenshein, Executive Director of

the Pat Brown Institute for Public Affairs at CSU Los Angeles

·        

Ange-Marie Hancock, Associate Professor of

Political Science at USC

·        

Nate Cohn of The New Republic (via

satellite from Washington, D.C.)

TV will simulcast the special nationally via satellite on DirecTV and DISH

networks (9 p.m. EST)

The

segments will also be streamed in their entirety on www.socalconnected.org. 

Tonight's

episode airs at 5:30 p.m. and repeats at 10 p.m.
