BURBANK, Calif. – Oct. 7, 2016 – KCETLink Media Group, a leading national independent nonprofit public broadcast and digital network, which includes both Southern California's KCET public television service as well as the Link TV national satellite network, announced today a new lineup of politically themed documentaries and news specials that will run during the week leading up to national election day on Nov. 8. Offering an alternative perspective to the coverage by mainstream U.S. media, the special lineup of programming comes from around the globe from trusted, objective sources.
On Tues., Nov. 8, from 7 p.m. – 12 a.m., Link TV (available to viewers nationwide on DirecTV 375 and DISH Network 9410), will host a five-hour election night special edition of DEMOCRACY NOW! featuring live updates on election results, with analysis and discussion by leading pundits. The special aims to offer viewers varied but verifiable perspectives on the world that allow for an informed audience to make up their own minds. DEMOCRACY NOW! airs daily on KCET in Southern California at 7 a.m. PT and on Link TV nationwide at 11 a.m. ET / 8 a.m. PT & 6 p.m. ET / 3 p.m. PT
A new episode of Link TV’s award-winning and acclaimed MOSAIC series will look at how the world is watching the US elections, from the perspectives of international broadcasters like the BBC, China State Television and Russian TV, interviews with foreign reporters as well as a view from people on the street. Offering a global pulse on the presidential campaign, this half-hour special edition of MOSAIC airs Tues., Nov. 1 at 8:30 p.m. PT and Fri., Nov. 4 at 8:30 p.m. PT on KCET and Link TV as well as online at LinkTV.org/mosaic.

Feeling Good About America: The 1976 Presidential Election – A new feeling was sweeping the country as people pulled together to celebrate the nation’s bicentennial and to select a new president who could help close the book on the contentious decade that just ended.

Raising Ms. President – Filmmaker Kiley Lane explores why more women don't run for public office in the United States.
