The new Sunday Science Night schedule begins Jan. 19 and airs as follows (subject to change):

Sun., Jan. 19, 8:00 p.m. – RIVERS OF LIFE “The Nile”
The Nile is the world's longest river. From elephants and leopards to extreme kayakers and ancient wonders, its great length provides a lifeline for Africa's wildest beasts and for some of the world's most incredible cultures.

Sun., Jan. 19, 9:00 p.m. – EXPEDITION WITH STEVE BACKSHALL
In this series, adventurer and wildlife expert Steve Backshall ventures into uncharted territories in pursuit of new discoveries and world firsts. He takes on extreme physical challenges, encounters extraordinary wildlife, and meets remarkable people.

Sun., Jan. 19, 10:00 p.m. – NOVA “The Planets: Jupiter”
Jupiter's massive gravitational force made it a wrecking ball when it barreled through the early solar system. But it also shaped life on Earth, delivering comets laden with water - and perhaps even the fateful asteroid that wiped out the dinosaurs.
