Nov. 12 Launch Party ‘Upstairs’ at Ace Hotel in Downtown LA

Burbank, Calif. – October 17, 2016 – KCETLink Media Group, a leading national independent nonprofit public broadcast and digital network, announced today a new partnership with Los Angeles’ longstanding public broadcasting internet radio station DUBLAB who will curate 13 new episodes of KCETLink Media Group’s original series BORDER BLASTER. KCETLink Media Group created the music video series in 2014 to showcase national and international musicians. The series will be telecast weekly, premiering nationwide on Link TV (DirecTV 375, DISH Network 9410) on Tues., Nov. 1 at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT and late night on KCET in Southern California at 12 a.m.

DUBLAB will continue the mission of BORDER BLASTER of tracing musical currents across continents and exploring world genres through this weekly television series and editorial contributions online. From Syrian electronic music to Caribbean psych rock, regular content will be generated to highlight vastly diverse international cultures and their voices through music. The new season is dedicated to exposing viewers to the cross-fertilization of musical styles and genres defining contemporary music.

  • Tues., Nov. 1Emergency” features music videos from Bahraini/UK-based psychedelic band Flamingods, Italian electronic producer Clap! Clap!, Los Angeles-based R&B songstress Jimetta Rose, British DJ Mark Barrott, Japanese musician Shintaro Sakamoto, and Spanish rapero El Guincho.
  • Tues., Nov. 8**Elevation” features music videos from UK pop band Landshapes, Spanish duo Storms, French composer Chassol, French-Canadian producer Tiga, Australian “heat beat” band NO ZU, Nigerien keyboardist and electronic music composer Hama, and Los Angeles-based musician Thundercat.
  • Tues., Nov. 15 "Connectivity" features music videos from folk musicians Steve Gunn & Mike Cooper, NYC audiovisual duo Georgia, UK producer Quantic, Los Angeles-based blues rocker Hanni El Khatib, and British producer Lapalux.

To kick off season four, DUBLAB has partnered with “Upstairs” at the Ace Hotel in downtown Los Angeles to host a launch party on the evening of Sat., Nov. 12. The event will feature videos from upcoming episodes and live appearances by some of the outstanding international musicians featured in the fourth season.  More information on the event can be found by going to Dublab.com/events.
