Doug Henshall stars as DI Jimmy Perez, a detective who solves mysteries in a tight knit island community against the stunning backdrop of the beautiful but remote Shetland Isles in Scotland. Based on the successful series of novels by acclaimed author Ann Cleeves. Audiences will be reunited with Perez and his partner DS McIntosh (Alison O'Donnell) as they find themselves embroiled in a new case. The drama will start with convicted murderer Thomas Malone (Stephen Walters) having his sentence overturned after spending 23 years locked up. The court's decision will lead Perez and McIntosh to reopen the case. However, things are far from simple after Malone returns home and a journalist is killed shortly afterwards. Perez and his team are brought in to look at both cases and find out if there's a connection.
