Burbank, Calif. - June 26, 2017- Link TV, a national independent public satellite television network, announced today the U.S. television premiere of a new four-episode documentary series called BLOOD, SWEAT AND T-SHIRTS. The series follows six young fashion lovers who swap shopping at the U.K.’s top luxury boutiques for working in the backstreet sweatshops of India, where they learn how the clothes they crave are manufactured. A four week experiment thrusts them into a world they never knew existed, facing harsh realities as unskilled workers earning a basic-living wage in India. BLOOD, SWEAT AND T-SHIRTS premieres Tues., July 11 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on Link TV which is available on Link TV nationwide (DirecTV 375 and DISH network 9410). The program is also available for streaming at linktv.org/bloodsweatandtshirts.

The episodes of BLOOD, SWEAT AND T-SHIRTS will telecast as follows (subject to change):

The Factory Floor #01 – Tues., July 11 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT

Six young fashion lovers start at the top, working for Shahi Enterprises in New Delhi that makes clothes for some of the biggest U.K. retailers. They learn to sew before joining the production lines where every worker has targets to meet and where supervisors are constantly watching.

The Backstreet Workshop #02 – Tues., July 11 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT

Following their travels to West Delhi, a group of six youths lives and works alongside the migrant tailors of a backstreet workshop. Here, they enter a world where the workers can spend up to 15 hours a day at their sewing machines. At night, they sleep on the factory floor next to their fellow workers and their machines.

The Cotton Mill #03 – Tues., July 18 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT

Six youths join thousands of poverty-stricken migrant laborers who head deep into the Indian countryside to work on the annual cotton harvest. The six-hour, third class train journey and life in the mill prove to be the group’s most physically demanding challenges to date.

The Slum Factories #04 – Tues., July 18 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT

It is the most emotionally taxing experience yet when the group visits a rescue center for victims of child labor and listens to the shocking stories of the kids involved. As they reach the end of their journey and return to their normal lives in the U.K., the cast reflects on what they have learned.

After these four episodes run in the month of July, a follow up four-episode series called BLOOD, SWEAT AND TAKEAWAYS will run beginning July 25 followed by a six-episode third series called BLOOD, SWEAT AND LUXURIES in August.
