Burbank, CA - Nov. 9, 2015 - This Thanksgiving, KCET, the nation's largest independent public television station, is treating viewers to a new journey on the Space Shuttle Endeavour; a special behind-the-scenes episode of the UK hit series DOC MARTIN; and two very different but nostalgic musical trips down memory lane with specials highlighting iconic music from the legendary band The Carpenters and MOTOWN 25, a documentary which hasn't aired on television in 20 years. This special holiday lineup allows viewers of all ages to experience the past, present and future of KCET's diverse programming mix.
In its exclusive broadcast premiere on KCET, THREE NIGHTS, THREE DAYS chronicles the feat of engineering required to transport the retired Space Shuttle Endeavour through the streets of Los Angeles in 2012 through 14 miles of urban, public streets to its new home at the California Science Center's Samuel Oschin Space Shuttle Endeavour Display Pavilion. The documentary film follows the shuttle's final journey inspiring future generations of scientists, innovators and engineers along the way.

THREE NIGHTS, THREE DAYS: Endeavour's Journey Through Los Angeles
7 p.m. PT
The 23-minute documentary from Director Paul Bozymowski chronicles the Space Shuttle Endeavour's transport through the streets of Los Angeles in 2012. Taking a behind-the-scenes look at the monumental feat of moving a 150,000-pound national treasure through 14 miles of urban, public streets, the shuttle is transported from LAX to its new home at the California Science Center. During its 68-hour journey through mostly underserved neighborhoods, more than a million people lined Endeavour's route, uniting communities, re-igniting an interest in space exploration and motivating a new generation of students to pursue science learning.
DOC MARTIN: SEVEN GRUMPY SEASONS 8 p.m. PT
Shot on location in the picturesque seaside village of Port Isaac during the filming of Doc Martin's highly anticipated seventh season, DOC MARTIN - SEVEN GRUMPY SEASONS is the third behind-the-scenes look at the international hit series. Featuring interviews with producers, cast members, and director Ben Gregor, this special is an enjoyable sneak peek at what Martin Clunes - the Doc himself - is calling the "best" season yet. (Season seven of Doc Martin debuts on KCET Jan. 14, 2016).
THE CARPENTERS: CLOSE TO YOU (My Music Presents)

The music-filled documentary traces The Carpenters through the eyes of Richard Carpenter and the group's friends in the music business, features all of their top recording hits, including "(They Long to Be) Close to You," "Top of the World," "Hurting Each Other," "Only Yesterday," "Rainy Days and Mondays" and "We've Only Just Begun." Between 1970 and 1983, The Carpenters were awarded 10 gold singles, and nine gold albums, many of which also achieved multi-platinum status. The special features interviews with Richard Carpenter, in addition to some of the group's longtime back-up singers and musicians, famous friends and colleagues, particularly those who helped them achieve stardom, including Herb Alpert, Paul Williams, Burt Bacharach and Petula Clark. The program also contains rare footage of Richard and Karen, including never-before-seen home movies, concert performances, studio recording sessions and archival television appearances and outtakes.
MOTOWN 25: Yesterday, Today, Forever

When MOTOWN 25: Yesterday, Today and Forever first aired in 1983, it was an immediate sensation and became one of the most talked about concerts and TV specials ever. In an era before social media, MOTOWN 25 was a true water-cooler event, marking the first time that music fans sawMichael Jackson do the Moonwalk in addition to many other iconic performances. Six months after the broadcast, the show deservedly won a George Foster Peabody Award and an Emmy® Award for Best Variety Program but has not been seen on television for more than 20 years. MOTOWN 25 was taped before a live audience and showcased virtually every key artist from the company's inception.
