Support Provided By

Burbank, Calif. - Dec. 19, 2013 - KCET, the nation's largest independent public television station

serving Southern and Central California, announced the results from its Huell

Howser 'Fan Favorite' poll.  Fans

went to kcet.org/huellvote and voted on five of their favorite Huell Howser

episodes from the top 50 shows from "Visiting..." and "California's Gold" series.

The most popular shows will be presented as a special tribute that includes a

Huell Howser marathon airing on KCET Sunday, Jan. 5 from 7 p.m.-12 a.m. and

each weekday, thereafter, during Huell Howser's regularly scheduled time at

7:30 p.m.

"Huell Howser is a legendary television

personality who shared a special relationship with his viewers," said Mary

Mazur, Chief Operating Officer for KCETLink. "On the one year mark since his

passing, KCET thought it appropriate to ask his fans to help celebrate his life

and work by selecting their favorite shows for our special marathon. We would

like to thank Chapman University for helping us commemorate Huell's legacy by

allowing us to present some of these very special episodes."

"As the beneficiary of Huell Howser's

legacy, Chapman University is delighted to partner with KCET in presenting

these fan favorite episodes," said Sheryl Bourgeois, the University's

Executive Vice President for University Advancement.  "Huell forged a unique friendship with

Chapman and donated his life's work -- including all his 'California's Gold' television shows -- to

be housed in perpetuity at the university, because he wanted the episodes to be

available to all.  He truly believed that

California's real gold is its people."

With more than 6,000 votes, the top Huell Howser
