Tonight SoCal Connected Reports on Excerpts from Church Tapes Discussing "L.A. Model" for Reassigning Los Angeles Priests Accused of Sexual Misconduct
KCETLink's Award-Winning News Program Also Expands its Examination
of Recently-Released Documents by the Archdiocese
Airing Tonight at 5:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.
Burbank, Calif., March 14, 2013 - In tonight's program, SoCal Connected, the award-winning news program, continues its investigation into the handling of sexual misconduct by priests in the Los Angeles Archdiocese. The show's news team gained access to tapes of a 1996 lecture in which a church official discusses the "L.A. Model," an experimental program that placed some accused priests in desk jobs in the Archdiocese or helped them find employment throughout the city, without informing the public of their misdeeds. Correspondent Vince Gonzales investigates.
Next, SoCal Connected special contributor, Madeleine Brand, and Vince Gonzales discuss a new interactive web project being developed by the SoCal Connected digital team which tracks where the accused priests were stationed throughout the city. The new tool will soon be available at www.socalconnected.org.

For the month of March only, SoCal Connected will air at 5:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. on Wednesdays and Thursdays. The regular schedule of 5:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. will remain for Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays.
