Burbank Calif. – June 20, 2018 – Link TV, the national independent non-commercial satellite television network, announced today the addition of two new investigative series HOTSPOTS: STORIES FROM THE FRONTLINE and FOREIGN CORRESPONDENT set to premiere in July that will take viewers behind the scenes of some of the world’s most volatile and hardest hitting issues. The programs will be part of a newly redesigned Sunday night schedule featuring a block of investigative journalism programming along with other engaging current affairs programs such as THE CHALLENGERS, LAURA FLANDERS SHOW and QUADRIGA.
Link TV will broadcast eight episodes of HOTSPOTS, a new series taking viewers on a unique journey to the frontline of news. In a first of its kind, veteran war correspondents Stuart Ramsay and Alex Crawford go behind the scenes of reporting on stories in some of the world's most dangerous areas including the former headquarters of ISIS in northern Syria, the Iraqi city of Mosul, and the mines in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Stories featured come from all over the world and cover a wide range of global topics, from trophy hunting, sex trafficking to drug smuggling and civil unrest. HOTSPOTS premieres Sun., July 15 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Link TV available nationwide (DirecTV 375 and DISH network 9410). Streaming is available on Apple TV and Roku.
Additionally, Link TV will broadcast 26 episodes of weekly documentary series FOREIGN CORRESPONDENT. Reporting on major international issues and stories that governments don't want told, the show has been Australia's leading international current affairs program since 1992. HOTSPOTS #01 Raqqua/Atlanta - 8 p.m. ET/PT
Stuart Ramsay presents from Raqqa, in northern Syria, which is the former headquarters of ISIS. In Atlanta, Georgia, the crew investigates the $300m per year sex industry that often involves children.
FOREIGN CORRESPONDENT #01 The Love Boat - 9 p.m. ET/PT
Matthew Carney reports on a determined group of young Chinese men and women taking action against China’s anti-gay laws. Shanghai has seen thousands of cruise ships come and go, but perhaps never one like this. About 800 special invitees are piling aboard the ship to witness the marriages of nine LGBT couples in a brazen statement against China’s law and traditional family values.

HOTSPOTS #02 Mosul/Rohingya Refugees - 8 p.m. ET/PT
Stuart Ramsay and his team travel to the Iraqi city of Mosul during the bloody battle with ISIS that lasted for nine months. Alex Crawford’s team makes a dangerous night-time boat journey from Bangladesh into Myanmar, to find Rohingya refugees in large numbers stranded on the shore with no way to get across to Bangladesh safely.

Hamish Macdonald deep dives into Manchester's Muslim community to find hard and revealing conversations going on.

Stuart Ramsay travels to Mexico, where newly released figures indicate 2017 has been the deadliest year in the country's history. Alex Crawford and her team go looking for child miners in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
