How does one decide to find comedy in the Israeli-Arab divide? For writer Sayed Kashua, it came easily, and his own background in news helped shaped the journalist protagonist of the show. ("I am sorry say I am the inspiration," he jokes.) In this interview, Kashua explains how he is pleased that the show allowed Israelis and the world at large to see a new side to Arabs -- and in between laughs, he hopes, a chance to think.
