CLOSED: CD/DVD Giveaway: Vireo

Vireo, the groundbreaking made-for-TV opera, is now available for streaming. Watch the 12 full episodes and dive into the world of Vireo through librettos, essays and production notes. Find more bonus content on KCET.org and LinkTV.org.

More than twenty years in the making, "Vireo: The Spiritual Biography of a Witch’s Accuser" is a twelve-part opera made for a streaming audience. By taking the opera outside of its usual location and production limitations, "Vireo" has shaken up the opera world and invites a new audience into the rich legacy of the art form. Now, take home that experience in a newly re-mastered score. "The CD/DVD is actually like brand new 'Vireo,'" says Bielawa, who is now working on a hybrid film and live experience of "Vireo" at the New School's Philip Glass Institute in New York City.
