California Coastal Trail

Pleasure Point: Connecting Santa Cruz to Surf Breaks

Season 1 Episode 29

East Cliff Drive is one of the newest sections of the California Coastal Trail. After years of erosion, what at first seemed like a problem has recently been transformed into a one-way street for pedestrians, bicycles and cars providing safe and scenic passage. Part of the solution also included maintaining the ocean below as one of California’s best spots to catch a wave. Ask any of the locals, they’ll tell you that surf’s up from Pleasure Point to the Hook, and East Cliff Drive connects it all from land to sea.
