California Coastal Trail
The Sea Ranch: An Environmentally-Planned Community
Season 1
Episode 38
"It's really about working with nature and not against it," says Margaret Lindgren of Unbeaten Path Hiking Tours about the ethos of the Sea Ranch. The Sea Ranch is an environmentally-planned private community along a 10-mile stretch of the Sonoma Coast. The small community is renowned for it's unique architecture and for being the first development to fully embrace the concept of "living lightly on the land." The California Coastal Trail runs north of the Sea Ranch, and there is access to the public beaches along the community.
