What Would Life Be Like If Everyone Was Healthy?
The Power of Stories is an archive of projects submitted every year to Building Healthy Communities (BHC) Statewide Convening. It showcases work created throughout California highlighting the power of individual and collective efforts to promote health and demonstrates how stories have the power to re-imagine and transform our communities. Produced in partnership with the California Endowment.
Project Submitted by: Maribel Nunez
Project Summary: Working with community members to create art that envisions a healthy community.
BHC Site: Eastern Coachella Valley
The exhibit will showcase art by children and adults that reflects their thoughts, ideas and dreams of a healthy community. By posing the question "What would life be like if everyone was healthy? participants are invited to take part in the process of imaging but also making their ideas a reality.
The exhibit will encourage participants to answer the question for themselves as they view the artwork that exemplifies our Health4All campaign.
KCET Cinema Series host Pete Hammond moderated a Q&A session with writer/director Andrew Heckler and producer Robbie Brenner.
A Q&A will immediately follow with Lightyear Entertainment president Arnie Holland.
Agnes Pelton’s Cat City home is no majestic artist enclave, but unable to drive, she still found her mystic inspirations in her small hometown. Walk in her shoes.
Cats helped UC Davis vets who treated them study the medical effects that burns and smoke, and perhaps stress, have on the feline heart, which could help doctors understand how an increase in wildfires affects the human body.
