Houses for Peace

"Houses for Peace" traces the legacy of a grassroots peace builder stirred to action when the U.S. dropped the atomic bomb on Hiroshima, Japan in 1945. Floyd Schmoe, an American, Quaker and lifelong pacifist, led a diverse group of American and Japanese volunteers in a project to build houses. In all, "Houses for Hiroshima" created 21 homes for atomic bomb survivors and their families.
