Where's Huell? 1/14 - 1/20
This week Huell looks at California's automobile past, present, and future. First a look back at the electric car models that made it off the assembly line in the early 20th-century. Yes, that's right, electric cars are nothing new. Then Huell presents the film "Who Killed the Electric Car?" that documents the demise of the electric vehicle. And finally Huell gives us a sneak peek at our state's driving future with his special tour of the 2010 L.A. Auto Show. Want even more Huell-car craziness? Thursday - January 14; 7:30pm: Vintage Electric Cars - Huell visits the Nethercut Museum in Sylmar to see the very first electric cars which were manufactured in the early 20th century.

Thursday - January 14; 9:00pm: 2010 L.A. Auto Show - Huell tours the 2010 Los Angeles Auto Show.

Friday - January 15; 7:30pm: Petroglyphs - Huell travels to the Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake to see some rock art that is arguably the largest concentration within the Western Hemisphere, and can number 6000 images just in one small canyon area of 1.5 miles alone. Though an accurate dating technique is still being sought, it is thought that certain petroglyphs date as much as 16,000 years old, with others made as recently as 1800. This rock art is so important to our cultural heritage and our knowledge of the desert's past that in 1964 the sites were listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

Sunday - January 17; 7:30pm: County USC Medical Center - Join Huell as he gets a tour of Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center which has been a familiar landmark for over a 100 years. The big white building has been used in many TV shows and films and has serviced countless patents over the years. In 2008 the old hospital finally closed its doors and all the remaining patients were moved to the new state of the facility across the street.

Monday - January 18; 7:30pm: Gold Rush Medicine - It wasn’t always pretty, and it didn’t always work, but the “doctors” of the Gold Rush did the best they could to take care of the throngs of immigrants who came to California in search of fame and fortune. Sacramento’s Sutter’s Fort is the backdrop of this adventure. Huell hears the story of how the Fort was chosen as the site of the first hospital in Sacramento that housed doctors, midwifes, Chinese herbalists certainly some charlatans with plenty of snake oil to sell. With the help of docents and some real doctors, it’s sure to be an education.

Tuesday - January 19; 7:30pm: Commercial Acting Class - The Los Angeles Unified School District and the Hollywood Comm
unity Adult School team up with the Assistance League of Southern California to offer seniors a variety of recreational and educational programs in a nurturing, enriching environment . Huell drops in on a one of these lively and fulfilling classes.

Wednesday - January 20; 7:30pm: Falcons
- Falconry is an ancient sport that has a small, but enthusiastic following in California. Huell learns about the sport, as well as an array of beautiful raptors from a master falconer and studio animal trainer.
