This week Huell drinks some eggnog, checks out some lint art, learns about the fotoplayer (an amazing instrument that made silent films not so silent), and visits Claremont's Folk Music Center. Don't miss any of the fun! For more information on these and other episodes - as well as a chance to purchase them - you can always visit Huell at www.calgold.com.)

Thursday - December 10, 2009; 7:30pm: Folk Music Center - It began in 1958 in the back room of Boots Beer's Real Estate Office with a couple of old records and some instruments. Almost fifty years later it has become one of the countries premier folk music destinations. Filled with instruments from al over the world and staffed by wonderful people who really know their music, the Folk Music Center is a wonderful place to loose yourself. Huell gets a very special tour from the family that still owns the center

Friday - Decmeber 11, 2009; 7:30pm: Fire Steamer - Huell travels to the 2002 National SPAAMFAA Winter Convention in San Bernardino. SPAAMFAA stands for “Society for the Preservation and Appreciation of Antique Motor Fire Apparatus in America.” This get together was a wonderful place to get glimpse of our state’s fire-fighting history. There were all kinds of apparatus from small hand pumpers to elaborate steam driven engines from the turn of the century.

Monday - December 14; 7:30pm: Fotoplayer - Huell meets Joe Rinaudo whose passion is a 1926 Fotoplayer, which uses music rolls like those for player pianos to provide music and sound effects to silent films. Joe spent thousands of hours restoring his Fotoplayer and although the “talkies” made them obsolete in the late 1920s, Huell discovers there is still no better way to enjoy a silent movie than with Joe, his hand cranked projector and his Fotoplayer.

Tuesday - December 15, 2009; 7:30pm: Lint Art - Huell visits his artist friend Slater Barron to witness the beauty of art made from lint!

Related: Don't want to wait until Tuesday? You can watch the full episode here!

Wednesday - December 16, 2009; 7:00pm: Eggnog Update - One of Huell's more popular shows was about Broguiere's Dairy. When he had his first visit, Huell found out that they make a really good eggnog and the family invited him to come back during the holiday season. Well Huell went back and got a first hand look at how this wonderful drink is made.

Related: Once you learn all there is to know about eggnog, why not fix yourself a tall glass, relax, and listen to Nat King Cole's The Christmas Song in front of an open (virtual) fire.

...And the most important place Huell will be this week... this Sunday, December 13th, Huell makes a special appearance on The Simpsons! Don't miss Simpsonized Huell cross paths with Homer et al. Hilarity is bound to ensue.

Related: Homer wishes Huell a happy 25th Anniversary. Who knew they even aired California's Gold in Springfield?
