Where's Huell 2/15 - 2/21

Huell does a little bit of everything this week: tours not one but two historic buildings, farms some worms, steps inside a colossal colon, sails without water ... He even leaves the state (Huell outside of California!?) and heads down to Havana for a quick visit. Too much good stuff to miss even a second!

Monday - February 15; 7:30pm: Lopez-Hill House - Huell tours the Lopez-Hill house, owned by José and Mary LÏ?pez who belonged to the first generation of Americans born in California after statehood was granted on September 9, 1850.

Tuesday - February 16; 7:30pm: Worms - Spend a day with Huell as he visits Rainbow Mealworms & Crickets. Rainbow has been raising and selling their "product" for 40 years. Not only do they sell mealworms and crickets, but they also raise huge hissing roaches! If you've ever wondered what a few million mealworms look like, this is the show for you.

Related: Building a worm farm. Impossible mission? I think not.:

Wednesday - February 17; 7:30pm: Kelso Depot - Huell attends the grand reopening of the Kelso Depot and not only tours the beautifully renovated and restored 1928 building, but talks with locals about its rich history. It’s a true celebration as the Kelso Depot begins its new life as a museum and information center for the Mojave National Preserve.

Related: A (very) quick peek at the Kelso Depot coffee room:

Thursday - February 18; 7:30pm: Land Sailing - Huell travels to the Mojave Desert’s El Mirage Dry Lake, one of the world’s best spots for land sailors. Land Sailing is a sport in which a wheeled vehicle powered by wind moves across land with the aide of a sail. Huell explores the history of this unique tradition and even gets the opportunity to ride a sofa through the desert!

Related: Who says you need water to go sailing?:

Friday - February 19; 8:30pm: Colossal Colon - Huell meets a remarkable young woman who is traveling the country with the “Colossal Colon” educating people about colon cancer. Her story and the innovative way she presents it is truly inspirational and hopefully will end up saving lives.

Related: Ever wonder what it's like inside your colon. Well, maybe not, but Huell is going to show you anyway!:

Sunday - February 21; 7:00pm: Huell in Havana - Huell spends ten days in Cuba and brings his Hi-8 video. We get a rare look at Havana and a feel for life in this "off limits" country.

Related: So Havana has most likely changed since the 30s, but no reason to not enjoy this vintage travel film:
