Where's Huell? (October 18-24)
This week: Basset hounds, silent movie stars, and the bells of El Camino Real.
Monday - October 18, 7:30pm: Ablitt House - Huell visits this unique house which was built on a 20 by 20 square foot lot in the heart of Old Town Santa Barbara.
Tuesday - October 19, 7:30pm: Masumoto Family Farm - Huell travels to Central California to visit the 80 acre Masumoto Family Farm. Huell's tour guide is David "Mas" Masumoto, author of "Epitaph for a Peach and "Wisdom of the Last Farmer: Harvesting Legacies from the Land".
Wednesday - October 20, 7:30pm: Calaveras County Fair - Huell travels to the Calaveras County Fair & Jumping Frog Jubilee. The fair theme comes out of the area's nickname "Frogtown", which caught on after Mark Twain published "The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County" in 1865. S
Thursday - October 21, 7:30pm: Basset Hound Picnic - Huell goes to the 1997 Basset Hound Picnic, sponsored by the Basset Hound Club of So. Cal.
Friday - October 22, 7:30pm: William S. Hart Park and Museum - Huell visits silent film star William S. Hart's mansion and ranch that covers over 265 acres.
Saturday - October 23, 7pm: El Camino Real Bells - Huell Howser visits The Kings Highway or, El Camino Real, and learns about its famous bells from author and historian Max Kurillo.
