Part two of "Men Who Made Us Fat" examines the effects of “Super Size” fast food meals. Forty years ago, the McDonald's chain of restaurants offered its first “Super Size” portion of french fries which contained 610 calories and 390 milligrams of sodium per serving. By the 1980s, Americans were found to be eating larger portions more frequently. While doctors began warning Americans of an obesity time bomb, critics suggested that the food industry should stop marketing to children.
