88 Hours Meltdown

88 Hours: The Fukushima Nuclear Meltdown, Part 1

On the fifth anniversary of the disastrous earthquake and tsunami event in Japan, archival film shows the destruction wrought by the gigantic tsunami, which caused the complete power outage at the Fukushima Daichi Nuclear Power Plant, causing three simultaneous meltdowns. That caused a Level 7 nuclear accident, the highest class.  The two-program series also shows how decommissioning of the reactor seems to be an unending process.
