Prisoners of War
This dramatic series tells the story of three Israeli soldiers who were held captive for 17 years following their kidnapping while on a secret mission with their unit in Lebanon. "Prisoners of War" offers an intense look at the aftermath of captivity for Israeli soldiers Nimrode Klein (Yoram Todeano), Uri Zach (Ishai Golan) and Amiel Ben Horin (Assi Cohen), after they return home as heroes and work to overcome the trauma of torture and captivity while settling back into their disrupted family lives. Israeli film and television director, screenwriter and producer Gideon Raff created both "Prisoners of War" the program upon which “Homeland” is based, and the latter American counterpart as well as the recent FX series “Tyrant.”
The negotiations for the release of the Israeli soldiers has ended successfully. Nimrode Klien, Uri Zach and Amiel Ben-Chorin are coming home. The first two are alive, but Amiel was killed while being a prisoner of war. The soldiers reunite with their loved ones. Nimrode meets Talia, who waited for him for all those years, and conducted the campaign for his release. He meets Dana, his 19 year-old daughter, and Hazav, his 17 year-old son whom he had never met. Uri meets Nurit, his fiancée, and finds out that she is now married to his brother.
Nimrode and Uri are taken to an interrogation facility designed for released Israeli prisoners of war in the small town of "Zichron Yahacov", and there they meet Haim, who is a military psychologist who aims to understand what they experienced behind enemy lines. Talia is in an emotional turmoil, and struggles to come to grip with the fact that her husband has returned. Nurit is being torn apart between Yaki and Uri, because his return ignited forgotten feelings in her.
