Ballots Are On Their Way, Prop. 187 Film Premieres

On the Oct. 5 edition of the Reporter Roundup, KPCC reporters and a KCET producer discuss the official kickoff of the 2020 election season in California, the race for district attorney and a documentary about the anti-immigrant Proposition 187.

Ballots Mailed Out
Ballots are on the way to every California voter due to the pandemic. Brian Frank discusses when we can expect them in our mailboxes and how to start filling them in.

District Attorney Race
One of the most watched races in L.A. is the race for district attorney. Libby Denkmann discusses why Mayor Eric Garcetti shifted his endorsement this past weekend.

A Look Back at Prop. 187
Pilar Marrero was journalist at La Opinion in 1994 when the anti-immigrant Proposition 187 was passed in California. Today, she is a consulting producer on “187: The Rise of the Latino Vote,” a new KCET documentary premiering Oct. 6.
