Cash Bail and Ride Share Election Results, COVID on the Rise
November 5, 2020
On the Nov. 5 edition of the Reporter Roundup, KPCC reporters discuss the outcomes of propositions 22 and 25, plus the rate at which COVID-19 numbers are rising in Los Angeles County.
Prop. 25 - Cash Bail
Proposition 25 would have eliminated the use of money in the bail system. Lauren Rosenhall breaks down the split among liberal voters that led to the measure being voted down.
Prop. 22 - Ride Share
Proposition 22 was a measure to preserve independent contractor status for ride share and delivery drivers. David Wagner discusses the business interests at play in passing this proposition.
COVID-19 Numbers Rising
Almost every COVID-19 metric is rising in Los Angeles. The daily count of infections is more than 2,000, a number not seen since July. Jackie Fortier shares more details.
