Glendale Apologizes for Racist Past

On the Oct. 16 edition of the Reporter Roundup, KPCC reporters discuss Glendale’s apology for its racist history as a sundown town, a new guide to guide conversations on race and the political role of Californians living in Texas during this election.

Sundown Town
Glendale has become one of the first cities in the country to apologize for its history of excluding African Americans. Itxy Quintanilla reports on how the city arrived at this decision and next steps.

Racism 101
A new LAist project is inviting Angelenos to ask their questions about race. Dana Amihere discusses Racism 101, a “starter kit” to guide your own conversations on race.

Californians in Texas
Since 2008, more than 700,000 Californians have moved to Texas. Matt Levin of CALmatters discusses the political role these Californians could play in the election.
