Reporter Roundup for August 25

Homelessness, Universal Basic Income | August 25

On the August 25 edition of the Reporter Roundup, KPCC reporters discuss L.A.’s homelessness program, cities piloting Universal Basic Income programs and a reflection on the murder of Anthony McClain.

It has been almost two years since Los Angeles launched an ambitious program to move unhoused people off the streets. Matt Tinoco took a hard look at what has happened since.

With the coronavirus still devastating large parts of our economy, some cities are now looking to pilot Universal Basic Income programs. David Wagner tells us more about the policy pushed heavily during the Democratic Presidential primaries by Andrew Yang.

Austin Cross shares his reflection on the Pasadena police killing of Anthony McClain as part of a series called Race in L.A.
