Reporter Roundup for September 18

Nursing Homes | August 28

On the August 28 edition of the Reporter Roundup, KPCC reporters discuss the lockdown on nursing homes, the effects of racism and stress, and the reopening of the L.A. Zoo.

After being on lockdown for months, many elderly nursing home residents are feeling trapped and isolated. Jackie Fortiér spoke with residents and reports on what administrators are saying.

Research shows that the stress of living in a racist society is detrimental for the mental health of people of color. Emily Elena Dugdale talks about a program designed to get more psychologists on board with this concept.

Julia Paskin spoke with zoo officials after the Los Angeles Zoo welcomed back visitors this week.
