Reporter Roundup: DACA, Daycares and LAUSD Police

Season 1 Episode 161

On the June 9 edition of the Reporter Roundup, KPPC reporters have details on reopening of daycare centers, LAUSD school police and DACA.

KPCC’s Kyle Stokes has details on a brewing battle between the Los Angeles Unified School District and the school police union.

It’s a tense time for DACA recipients, young people who were brought to this country by their undocumented families. Reporter Josie Huang has more on an expected U.S. Supreme Court decision.

KPCC’s Mariana Dale has been fact checking the number of emergency daycare centers that were set up during the pandemic. Of the centers Dale talked to, most got the waivers to care for just a few extra kids and they still saw lower than normal enrollment during the pandemic.
