Hernan Barangan's film,“Road Rebellion” will air on KCET on October 8.

Hernan Barangan, a teen cancer survivor, has a mission. Supported by Teen Cancer America, Baragan will go out to 50 states to find 50 teens to film 50 stories of teens with cancer so that the united voice of young people across the U.S. can be heard.  We interviewed Donovan, and filmed him as he was getting his first tattoo to commemorate his 3rd year anniversary cancer free.

LOVELAND, COLORADO

We filmed with Tristan who was a skater before he was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma.  Now that he can’t skate anymore he has combined his love for skateboards with his interest in cameras.

DENVER, COLORADO

We filmed at First Descents headquarters with Wildflower, who had been a Kayak group leader helping young people with cancer before suddenly last year he found out he had cancer in his thyroid and lymph nodes.

Cancer Rebellion - Trailer

“Road Rebellion” follows filmmaker and leukemia survivor Hernan Barangan as he aims to change the face of US healthcare for teenagers and young adults with cancer. In 2015, Barangan set out on a quest to film the voices of young cancer patients from every state in the country. Their stories raise the profile of their unique challenges. The filmmaker plans to create a lasting legacy for the young people of the future.
