Now the question is "Who isn't trying to revive it?"

General Motors and Nissan are ahead of the pack with two sedans now available to consumers, the Chevy Volt and Leaf respectively. Ford, Honda and Toyota are giving chase, as are more obscure car makers like Tesla, Fisker and Coda. Over the coming years, buyers will learn to delineate between fully electric cars and plugin hybrids. They'll ask questions about battery size and range.
