Veteran Tending to a Marijuana Plant

'Airbnbs Gone Wild' and 'Military Buds'

In its season premiere episode, SoCal Connected has found neighbors throughout L.A. filing lawsuits, restraining orders and calling the police on each other, all over the arrival of short term rentals. Can these Airbnb turf wars be settled by City Hall leaders? Will self regulation of the short term rental industry be a better solution to L.A.'s enforcement challenges? SoCal Connected's Nic Cha Kim dives into L.A.'s short term rental challenge.

Indoor marijuana production is booming across Southern California and expected to bring in seven billion dollars statewide once it's legalized for recreational as well as medicinal use next year. So Cal Connected's Vince Beiser goes behind the scenes with an entrepreneurial pot farmer who is training military veterans to work in the marijuana industry. Not only are Vets uniquely qualified to do the difficult, disciplined work indoor farming requires, but some are finding cannabis has added benefits for them as well.
