A group of volunteer SCUBA divers regularly head deep underwater to clean up shipwrecks and protect ocean life. Correspondent Angie Crouch introduces us to the "Ocean Defenders," and takes us below the surface to see their work first hand. Then as the state budget situation continues to devolve, we sit down with Bob Stern, president of the Center for Governmental Studies to hear what he thinks are the greatest dangers facing California, and what the state must do to get out of this economic mess. After that, Anchor Val Zavala asks why, if we are in a time of tremendous need, why is there also tremendous waste? She finds the people who have found ways to waste less food and feed more people. And finally, commentator Joel Stein says he cares about the environment as much as anyone. But he has his limits. SoCal Connected cameras were also in Santa Monica this week, where a crowd of about 1,000 people gathered to show support for the two American journalists imprisoned by North Korea.
