SoCal Connected Receives 8 Emmy® Nominations
SoCal Connected, KCET’s hard-hitting weekly news program, has been nominated for eight Emmy® Awards, including Best Talk/Public Affairs/News Series and Best Feature. The 63rd Annual Los Angeles Area Emmy® Awards will be held August 6, 2011 at The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences in North Hollywood. SoCal Connected previously won six Los Angeles Area Emmy® Awards during its first season in 2009.
In addition, SoCal Connected was nominated for an Imagen Award in the Best Local Informational Program category for the episode titled “A Border Between Them.” The prestigious Imagen Award recognizes positive portrayals of Latinos in the media. The awards will be presented at a gala black-tie dinner on August 12 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel International Ballroom.
