The issues raised in our special, The Way Home, are often tackled by related nonprofits. Explore this page to learn more about issues facing our homeless population and find ways to partner up with organizations striving to make change.

L.A. Family Housing serves homeless and low-income individuals and families all throughout the city of Los Angeles. Since 1983, LAFH has become one of the city’s largest comprehensive real estate developers and homeless service providers.

New Directions For Veterans - For nearly 25 years, NDVets has provided assistance to thousands of homeless veterans in L.A. They offer a wide array of services, including substance abuse treatment, remedial education and job training.

Imagine L.A. is a non-for-profit organization dedicated to ending the cycle of family homelessness, poverty and neglect. The organization has collaborated with more than 100 community-based partners: government, nonprofit, and private organizations that provide valu­able services and resources to our families and their mentors.

Housing Works provides permanent supportive housing and support services to the most traumatized, vulnerable and needy members of our community—homeless individuals, victims of domestic violence, at-risk youth, Veterans, and people dealing with severe physical or mental illness or substance abuse.

Public Counsel is the largest pro bono law firm in the nation. The organization offers legal assistance for wide array of people who live at or below the poverty level.

The Right Way Foundation assists foster care youth in transitioning to safe, comfortable self-sufficiency when they leave the foster care system. RWF offers these individuals in the form of housing, therapy, job placement and a variety of other services.

Angel Hanz For the Homeless, Inc. - A non-profit that provides supplies and vet services to pets owned by homeless people.

Good Shepard Center For Women and Children - Offers support for women and children in need.

St. Francis Center - Provides relief and support to homeless and low-income individuals and families in Los Angeles.

People Assisting the Homeless - PATH is a family of agencies working together to end homelessness for individuals, families, and communities throughout California by prioritizing housing while providing customized supportive services for people in need.

Union Rescue Mission - One of the largest and oldest rescue missions in Los Angeles.

Union Station Homeless Service - The San Gabriel Valley’s largest social service agency assisting homeless and very low-income adults and families.

Los Angeles Mission - Offers emergency service to anyone in need. These services include serving three hot meals daily, overnight shelters, clean clothing, showers and temporary baggage storage.

The Weingart Center For the Homeless - Offers comprehensive services to homeless people of all stripes. They provide both residential and community-based programming, with a special focus on homeless women, veterans and the recently paroled.
