SoCal Update

On the Feb. 17 episode of SoCal Update, the vaccine mega-site at Cal State L.A. is now open. What makes this one so special?

The help of about 200 soldiers is bringing military efficiency to the site, which is vaccinating about 3,000 people daily, says KPCC Reporter Sharon McNary. Cal State L.A. was chosen due to its location near communities in East Los Angeles and its proximity to bus routes, which is important for the site’s walk-in vaccine center. The site is working with community based organizations for outreach, such as senior centers, churches and local health clinics, who are doing outreach to connect community members with vaccines.
