SoCal Update

On the March 3 episode of SoCal Update, the City of Los Angeles joins the county in approving a $5 pay bump for grocery workers. KPCC Reporter David Wagner explains what happens next.

With the exception of one “no” vote from San Fernando Valley councilman John Lee, the Los Angeles City Council approved so-called “hero pay” for grocery workers in the city. But California’s grocery industry is determined to fight the mandate just as it has with similar laws already on the books in Long Beach, West Hollywood and unincorporated parts of L.A. County.
