SoCal Update

On the March 10 episode of SoCal Update, KPCC Food Editor discusses what a drop in COVID-19 cases means for indoor dining and KPCC College Pathways Reporter Jill Replogle talks about a surprising trend in financial aid applications.

Los Angeles County may move into the red tier of the state’s COVID-19 reopening guidelines as soon as Friday. While this means restaurants can return to indoor dining, it might not happen right away.

Applying for financial aid is a major indicator of whether high school seniors plan to attend college the following year. Compared to last year, fewer seniors are submitting their Free Application for Federal Student Aid across California, but the number has increased among seniors at Los Angeles Unified School District schools.
