On the March 30 episode of “SoCal Update,” details about the Los Angeles Police Department shooting and killing a man Monday morning. KPCC Criminal Justice Correspondent Frank Stoltze shares more about the seventh officer-involved shooting in 14 days.

The LAPD tried to stop a man who was walking along 7th Street near the 110 freeway in downtown Los Angeles. The man allegedly “produced a handgun” and officers opened fire. Chief Michel Moore has acknowledged the frequency of shootings is unusual but also noted the department has had the fewest number of shootings in 30 years.
