SoCal Update

On the March 19 episode of SoCal Update, vaccination sites are facing challenges in ensuring people are truly part of vulnerable groups who need the vaccine the most. KPCC Infrastructure Reporter Sharon McNary discusses how eligibility verification works.

Health officials in L.A. County are trying to get the COVID-19 vaccines to the most vulnerable Angelenos but they need to check people’s identifications and proof of occupation to ensure they are eligible. That can be tricky. People who work in food service, farming and janitorial services don’t always have traditional forms of identification, such as driver’s licenses, especially if they are undocumented.
