Those looking to get away for a little rest and relaxation in Santa Barbara County will have a couple new overnight options starting later this month. 11 new camping cabins spilt between Jalama Beach and Lake Cachuma will be first available Memorial Day weekend.

The cabins come with a restroom, shower, satellite TV and a full service kitchen, which includes a stove top, microwave and convection oven, and fridge. Dishes, pots and pans, cooking utensils, serving utensils, coffee pots, dish soap, dish towels and other cleaning items will also be provided. Guests, however, will have to bring their own bedding, toiletries and bath/hand towels.

Seven of the cabins--three will sleep five, another three will sleep six, and one ADA that will sleep four--will be located at Jalama Beach (map), about a one hour drive from Santa Barbara. Prices will range from $100 to $200 per night.

At Lake Cachuma (map), which recently introduced kayaking, in the Santa Ynez Valley, four cabins will be available for $80 to $125 a night. Three will sleep six people, and one ADA one will sleep four. These county-run cabins are in addition to four existing cabin rentals run by Central Coast Cabins. Yurts are also available for rent.

Starting May 23rd, reservations for the new county cabins can be made up to six months in advance by calling 805-568-2460 Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
